MEN, WOMEN AND CALORIES: A DIFFERENT HISTORY
As you may have gathered, men's nutritional needs differ from those of women. Accordingto the World Health Organization (WHO), a woman needs to consume2000 calories per day while a man needs to consume 2500 calories per day. Mind you, these are only averages that allow for a stable weight. This seems logical given that bodies vary with each person. Some women burn calories faster than some men as well as vice versa: there are men who store fat more easily than other women.
In addition to this, various other factors are to be taken into account such as weight, age, type of physical effort or even height. A simple example is that as a person's height or mass increases, so do their needs, whereas the higher an individual's age, the less energy their body needs and therefore calories to consume.
